'A room with a hammock' never fails to catch my eyes. I love the laid-back feel and "away-from-everyday-life" feel produced by the hammocks. I guess it has a magical effect that converts ordinary space into charming and inspirational space.
The picture above is one of the rooms with a hammock from 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin, which opened January, 2014. Not only the hammock, but you also notice the bike on the wall . . .
This hotel offers free MINI and bicycle rental to their guests. Some larger rooms are even equipped with personal in-room bike. Then you wake up and just hop onto "your own" bike just like locals, without going to the frontdesk to rent the bike. How nice, isn't it?
[A little bit about the hotel]
  • 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin is located in Berlin's City West, between the Berlin's Zoo and the shopping and high-end retail street (Ku'damm).
  • The redevelopment project centered on five historic buildings in this area including the Zoo Palast cinema and Bikinihaus, a unique post-war architectural icon, is being completed in April, 2014, and now the collection of the buildings have been reborn as BIKINI BERLIN complex. This hotel is a part of the complex, along with the cinema and concept mall.
  • Of the 149 rooms, half face the zoo ('Jungle' rooms), and another half face the city center ('Urban' rooms).
  • The room size varies between M (22-26sqm), L (38-41sqm), and XL (43sqm). It seems that in-room bike comes with the L type. (Personally, I'd love to stay in a Jungle L room.)
  • Architecture: KEC Architects
  • Design: Werner Aisslinger (Studio Aisslinger)

Floor-to-ceiling window of the 'Jungle' room offers an enjoyable view of the zoo.

Every room has rain shower in the bathroom. (Note that bath tub is not in every room.)

Look at these cushions. I love the colors and textures.

Just imagining to have breakfast in this glass-walled rooftop restaurant makes me feel good.

What I like about this hotel:
  • Pop and warm colors.
  • Simple design yet with playful touch.
  • Large windows that give an open feeling.
  • Free MINI and bike rental is an extra plus!
  • Free WiFi included too.
  • iPod docking statin in rooms and iMac workstation at shared space.
  • 360-degree panoramic view is most likely available from its rooftop bar and restaurant.
