. . . so I started to check out the features of this hotel.
- Aside from the tucked away location surrounded by towering limestone hills and deep green rainforest, the retreat features geothermal hot springs. (This area, Ipoh, is famous for hot springs, by the way.)
- The retreat offers wide variety of holistic wellness and spa experiences including detoxification and yoga programmes that will help to restore your body and soul.
- There are unique natural caves within the resort such as 'Thermal Steam Cave' incorporating geothermal hot spring water, and 'Crystal Cave' with amethyst and quartz crystals that facilitate metaphysical healing. Meditation in the caves . . . why not?
- The restaurant serves seasonal, low-fat, organic and whole foods. (Not only fruits and vegetables, but also fresh seafood and meat is served. And organic wine too.)
- It's a small luxury hotel with only 25 villas. Guests can select from either 'GARDEN VILLA' with a private courtyard (2,808sqft, 260sqm), or 'WATER VILLA' overlooking a water canal (1,667sqft, 154sqm).
- Every villa has a private pool, outdoor rain shower, and a sunken Jacuzzi with natural geothermal hot springs water.

- Imagine restoring your body and soul by relaxing and detoxing, healed by power of nature. This is what I want for vacation, away from everyday life.
- I love this small and simple luxury better than large scale resrot hotels.
- It looks as if it's located in a hidden jungle, but actually it's pretty accessible.
- Eco-consciousness throughout the resort is a plus too. (2012-2013 Best Sustainable Hotel in Malaysia)
This luxury hideaway retreat would be perfect for a special treat for yourself.
To fly from Japan to Kuala Lumpur, luckily we have Air Asia. So you can spend less for air tickets and spend more for where you'll be staying if you want.
When available, Air Asia X's Premium flatbed seat is a good option too.

It's about 2 hours drive from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Malaysia. Or, if you choose to travel by train (I would), you will first need to get to the KL Sentral Railway Station (about 30 minutes by KLIA Ekspres from the airport). From there, enjoy 2.5 hour train ride to Ipoh by ETS. Transfers from the Ipoh station to The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat can be arranged (about 15 minutes by car).
